Read below for specific cancellation policies based upon the service provided. Generally, if cancellation is required due to weather or other unforeseen circumstances, within a non-refundable period, payments may be credited towards future services.

Cancellation Policy

BOOKING, CANCELLATION & WEATHER POLICY

Effective 01 January 2025

1. GENERAL TERMS

  • • Payment: Full payment is taken at the time of booking.

  • • How to cancel or reschedule: Email info@dogpatchpaddle.com (or reply to your confirmation email).

  • • Your cancellation timestamp is when your email lands in our inbox.

  • • Credits: Issued as electronic vouchers, valid 12 months, transferable once, not redeemable for cash.

  • • Refunds: Processed back to the original payment method within 7 business days (where a refund applies).

  • • Late arrivals / no-shows: Arriving 15 min after start time with no notice counts as a no-show (non-refundable).

  • • Force majeure: When events beyond our control (severe weather, wildfire smoke, government order, etc.) make operations unsafe or illegal, we may cancel or modify any service. Our sole obligation is to issue credit.

  • • Consumer rights: Nothing here limits any non-waivable rights you hold under applicable consumer-protection laws.

2. CATEGORY-SPECIFIC CANCELLATION WINDOWS

RENTALS (boards, kayaks, gear)

  • • 48 hrs or more: 100 % refund **or** 100 % credit

  • • 48 – 24 hrs: 100 % credit

  • • < 24 hrs: non-refundable

GROUP LESSONS & TOURS

  • • 72 hrs or more: 100 % refund **or** 100 % credit

  • • 72 – 48 hrs: 100 % credit

  • • < 48 hrs: non-refundable

PRIVATE LESSONS & PRIVATE EVENTS

  • • 72 hrs or more: 100 % refund **or** 100 % credit

  • • 72 – 48 hrs: 100 % credit

  • • < 48 hrs: non-refundable

SAUNA APPOINTMENTS

  • • 48 hrs or more: 100 % refund **or** 100 % credit

  • • 48 – 24 hrs: 100 % credit

  • • < 24 hrs: non-refundable

YOUTH CAMPS

  • • ≥ 60 days: 100 % refund

  • • 60 – 30 days: 100 % credit

  • • < 30 days: non-refundable*

*Provide a replacement camper ≥ 7 days before camp and we’ll convert the forfeited payment to transferable credit.

3. WEATHER & WATER CONDITIONS (ALL BOOKINGS)

We paddle in most conditions, but high winds, rain, extreme turbulence, poor visibility, or unsafe AQI may trigger a weather hold.

  • • **Dogpatch Paddle Cancels for Safety** → 100 % credit (no refunds).

  • • **You Request Cancellation While Conditions Are Safe** → standard windows above apply.

Weather calls are normally made 2 hrs before start time using NOAA, Windy, and real-time bay sensors; our decision is final. Credits are valid for any Dogpatch Paddle service for 12 months.

4. RESCHEDULING

Outside the non-refundable window you may reschedule once at no charge, subject to availability. Additional changes = $20 admin fee.

5. MEDICAL & EMERGENCY EXCEPTION

Email a dated physician’s note or comparable proof within 7 days of the booking and we’ll convert non-refundable payments to credit.

6. AGREEMENT ACCEPTANCE

Submitting payment confirms you’ve read, understood, and agreed to these terms for yourself and any participants you book.
