When you book a private event with us, you get the whole thing — not just boats. That means exclusive use of kayaks and SUPs (your group won't be mixed with strangers), all safety gear and paddles, and your own dedicated instructors for the duration of the paddle. Before you hit the water, you'll get a full safety briefing at the dock — clear, quick, and designed to get everyone confident without killing the energy. From there, it's your group, your instructors, your pace.
The typical private event runs about two hours on the water, routed through Mission Bay and the McCovey Cove area. We handle all the logistics. You show up, gear up, and paddle. That's the whole job.
Group Sizes: 5 to 50, Both Locations
We host private groups of five to fifty people across two waterfront locations.
Crane Cove Park (701 Illinois Street, Dogpatch) is our HQ and the better fit for larger groups. More dock space, more waterfront area for gathering before and after, and our full facility on-site — including the sauna and market, if you want to extend the day.
Mission Creek Boathouse (401 Berry Street, SoMa/Mission) is ideal for groups coming from the urban core — SoMa, Mission, Hayes Valley — and puts you closer to Oracle Park and the McCovey Cove route. The calm water here is especially good for mixed-experience groups who want a shorter learning curve.
For groups under 15, it's an intimate experience. 15–30 starts to feel like a real party out on the water. 30–50 is a full production, and we staff up accordingly. Pricing for private events is based on group size and configuration — reach out for a quote.
The Route: What You'll Paddle
A typical private event route starts with your briefing at the dock, then launches out through Mission Creek and into Mission Bay. You'll paddle past the waterfront toward Oracle Park — the view from the water is genuinely one of the best in the city — with an optional stop at McCovey Cove before turning back.
Along the way, you're likely to share the water with harbor seals, great blue herons, pelicans, and the occasional bat ray gliding below your hull. We don't rush this section. It's often where the group settles in, the chatter picks up, and people start to realize they're actually having the time of their lives.
The return to the dock is usually loud in the best way. Two hours on the water goes fast when people are locked in.
Add-Ons: Catering, Swag, Photo and Video
The paddle is the main event, but we can help layer in extras that make it feel like a full production.
Catering: We can coordinate with food trucks or catering partners to set up at the dock for your group's arrival back from the water. Timing this well makes the end of the paddle feel like a celebration landing. Book these at least 3–4 weeks out to give us time to coordinate.
Custom swag: Branded gear for your guests — hats, totes, dry bags — is a popular add-on for corporate groups and larger birthday parties. Lead time varies by vendor, so mention this early in your planning conversation.
Photo and video coverage: A photographer on the dock and/or on the water changes what you take home from the day. The shots from out on the Bay, with the city behind your group, are the ones that go on the wall.

How to Book and What to Expect

Summer weekends — especially July and August — book out four to six weeks in advance, sometimes more for large groups. If you have a specific date, don't wait on it. Corporate groups often book further out than individuals expect.
Once we confirm availability and get the details dialed, we'll send you everything you need for the day: what to wear, what to bring, logistics for the group, and the plan from arrival to the last paddle stroke.
