Keep your boat or board at the water instead of in your hallway. A dedicated indoor bay with your name on it, forty feet from the beach, so a paddle stops being a logistics problem and starts being a decision you make in the morning.

No hauling it down four flights, no roof rack, no wondering whether it is worth the trip. Wash it down when you get back and leave it where it belongs.

Rates

One craft per bay, priced on what it is and how long it is. Rates are the same at both locations.

A one-time setup fee is added to your first payment: $100 for boards, kayaks and surfskis, $150 for an e-foil. Monthly and annual both bill automatically until you tell us to stop.

Where it lives

Two buildings, both on the water, same rates either way. What differs is how you get in, so pick the one that fits how you paddle.

Crane Cove ParkBuilding 49, 701 Illinois Street, on the rear water side of the building. Our daily headquarters: the shop, the changing room, lockers, the wash bay and the sauna are all here, and the beach launch is a short carry from the rack. Self-service entry is a QR code at the door panel and a code on the alarm keypad inside. More about Crane Cove.

Mission Creek Boathouse401 Berry Street. Flat creek water, an accessible dock launch instead of a beach carry, and a short paddle to McCovey Cove and the Bay Bridge. Members get a key. We ask you to text us when you open up and again when the door is locked behind you. More about the boathouse.

Which oneCrane Cove if you want the shop, the sauna and open Bay. Mission Creek if you want calm water, a dock rather than a beach, and Giants game days on your doorstep. If you are not sure, come and look at both before you sign up.

Good to know

What you getA dedicated bay for one craft, racked vertically or horizontally and labelled with your name, plus room for your paddle, life vest and a small dry bag as long as they sit inside or behind your bay. The changing room, the lockers and the wash bay come with it.

Member perksA member rate on the sauna and cold plunge. Half price on a single lesson or tour, and a member rate on rentals for friends and family paddling with you. 10% off everything in the shop, and member-only paddles and events through the year.

Getting set upReserve a rack online, then come and meet us. We walk you through the building, find the right spot for your craft and tag it with your name. The spot may move as we reorganise the shop, and we will tell you when it does.

Self-service accessRound-the-clock access is switched on after your first month with us, once we know each other. Until then, and any time you would rather have a hand, text us on 415-484-9322 and someone will meet you. A day’s notice helps, but walk-ins during staffed hours are always fine.

Staffed hours9am to 5pm, seven days, and the shop closes for weather and holidays like everywhere else. Self-service members are not tied to those hours.

InsuranceWe carry an equipment policy, but the deductible is high enough that it will not cover your boat against theft or loss. If your craft is worth insuring, add it to your homeowners, renters or personal property cover. Worth doing before you drop it off.

SecurityThe building is alarmed, entry is logged, and there are cameras throughout. Everyone with self-service access has been through onboarding with us in person.

House rulesWash and dry your gear before it goes back on the rack, secure it with the bungee and name tag, use the main door rather than the roll-up, and leave the shared space the way you found it.

Not sure it will fitAnything over 18 feet has its own rate, and a few shapes are easier to rack than others. Send us a photo and the length on info@dogpatchpaddle.com and we will tell you straight.
